Ep3 6sp not shifting into reverse

I recently had a tsx 6th added to my fiver. All the forward gears work great. But I can't shift into reverse with the shifter. It goes into reverse from under the hood tho. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

Is your shifter original?

If you have a usdm 5 speed shifter in your ep3, you have 3 options:

-modify the 5 speed shifter by notching it. There's a DIY on here
-get a 6 speed shifter from an EP3R
-get a Buddy Club SS

Yes indeed but I'm already ahead of you. I've already installed the bcss from kseries. I was surprised they were cheaper than ebay. I'm thinking I need a shifter cable maybe?

Take a look at the cable where they connect to the trans and you should see if you got a bad cable. That's where they usually stretch. Can you not get into gear with the car running or at all?

There's just a tad bit of play with one of the cables. I can shift into reverse from under the hood. But not from the shifter inside. When I shift into reverse from under the hood and get back into the car I can start up, drive in reverse with no issues, then move the shift knob out of reverse, but it only goes into 6th when attempting to move the knob right back into reverse.

Probably the cable is done. Time for some hybrid racing ones!
