are your exhaust tips rusting?

I was looking my exhaust tips on my car and noticed that they've started to rust. I really like the look of the stock exhaust but I never knew that they rust so easily. I wash my car at least once every 2 weeks and still this happens.

Anyone else have this problem?

not me. it is a little black from exhaust but besides that no signs of rust (so far).

no rust, but underneath the tips there is some black appearing, like the chrome is going away. This is normal it seems....OEM tips really aren't that great :) It was like that on the 99-00 Civics. I think it has to do mainly with the exhaust gases coming out.

Yeah I have a little rust starting, but with the amount of salt they put on the roads here it doesnt surprise me. Its still frustrating though! :rolleyes:

Same here, they're black, but not yet rusting. I'm guessing they'll start doing it soon though.

No rust here. A little black on the inside, but that is to be expected. I do polish mine every few months and when I wash my car (when it's not freezing), I am always sure to wash the tips.

Hopefully all the salt on the roads doesn't yuck them up to much.

yup, mine are rusting....no salt on the roads here. (east tx) i have just over 5000 miles too....b/c of this im getting a catback instead of midpipe
