What do you guys think is the best way to warm up my tires at the burnout box at the dragstrip? Engage the e-brake and let er' rip? I'll be getting a set of BF drag radials just for the track in time for the spring so I won't be nervous about wearing out my street tires. I know its an elementary question but I've never felt comfortable doing it before.

No amount of spin out on the stock michelines will do you any good. They don't retain heat nor do they get any stickier. Just don't do what this guy did the last time I was at the track unless you just want to waste your tires. Best bet on stock tires is just to line up an let it rip.;)

Since you'll be using drag radials, there's 2 ways you can try it. (both use the Ebrake)

Roll into the water box
Spin the tires to wet them (don't do a burn out in the box)
Start in 1st gear with the ebrake up
Rev it up
Drop it and hit the gas. Shift as your doing this
Once you create a good amount of smoke (make sure it's your tires and not your clutch) slowly release the ebrake and hit the clutch.

The other way is to start in second gear since first is so damn short.

Good luck,

Steve
