after driving for a lil bit i can smell my brake pads a lot from the rear end of the car. it was never like this till recently. it also makes crunching noise when i step on my brakes( sort of like metal and metal grinding) i think there might be problems with the rear brakes. anyone got any opinions on what is goin on?:(

I noticed my rear brakes started to smell when I stopped driving.
Didn't occur when I first got the car, but after about 5000km.

This was without hard braking just before I stopped, I thought maybe the rear pads were rubbing.

The smell seems to be gone when I stop now. (More then 1000km later)

As for the crunching noise, are you sure it's not the ABS your feeling(does the pedal modulate?)?

ye im sure its not abs. it just sounds like rough metals rubbing together. prolly gotta bring it in to be serviced

With the wet weather you are having its probably just corrosion building up on the rotor when its parked.

I think the rear rotors are defective or something, just look at mine and there is still 80% pad left on it.

Looks like your caliper may be seized. Do you use your parking brake regularly when parked? If you dont, this may be your culprit.

I use it regularly, like bran. No drag feeling or sound of a stuck caliper, the grooves are on both side. Also removed the calipers worked them in and out, there are smooth with no tightness or stickiness, Mine are from drag racing, but it shouldn't have done that much damage.
Normally I would go down the track about 20-30 times in a day, once a week during open season. (Yes I run the hell out of my car)
