First off, you have to measure your wheel gap. Example.. stock springs and stock wheels and tires = about 3 inches (that's what it is on my car). You didn't specify the tire size of the 16 and 17 inch wheels. But to try to answer your question, you take the overall tire diameter (stock=195/60/15=24.212 inches) measure the wheel gap and presto! Sorry if i didn't help ya, but you need to elaberate on your question.

Well, I posted the formula to calculate over tire diameter on another thread. But i can't remember which one. So here it is again. Width x .aspect ratio x 2 divided by 25.4 plus the wheel size. Example.. 195 x .60 x 2 divided by 25.4 + 15 = 24.212 inches. That is the stock tire overall diameter. So just plug in the tire sizes you are looking for. 205/55/16 = 24.877 inches and 215/45/17 = 24.618. Both of these sizes are larger than the stock tire. That means if you go with either tire, your gear ratio will be taller. Also your speedo-meter might read slower than you are actualy traviling. As for the amount of drop you will need to fill that ugly wheel gap, it's up to personal preferance. I am going to go with the neuspeed race springs. But you could go with a coilover set up. Then you will be able to adjust the ride height to your liking. I hope that info helped you out. If not, i am sorry:'(
