Super Noob-pedal instal question

K, I know that I gotta take off the rubber pads on the clutch and brake, then drill, but I notice that our gas pedal is not rubber, but rather plastic. It seems to merely be molded onto the round peg. Do I just drill through the plastic to install or what??? Sorry for the total noob Q, but i figured I dont wanna learn the hard way. All help is appreciated. BTW, im puttin on Sparco Grips..

i came across the same problem with my mugen pedals

what i decided to do was use the screws and drill into the gas pedal
but used self tappers first THAN supplied screws

holds in perfectly on the gas

and when i sell the car i will throw on some pep boys ones :)
to cover the little holes:p
