so anyway, at work, they recently upgraded the sound studio. afterwards, i help myself to few good 3x3 pieces of *sonex* its this foam with lots of high peaks/ridges that absorb the hell out of sound, hence its use in a studio. anyway, i used one 3x3 piece for the trunk, so that it fills the gap between the spare and the trunk flooring. then this weekend, i installed new 6 1/2's and upon removing the speakers, i found a huge gap between the inner frame, and the outter frame, so I put some *sonex* in there. road noise is cut down considerably. i could have gone the dynamatt way, but its expensive, and heavy.

Be sure to check it after the next rain for moisture.

i was staying aware of that, so i didn't *stuff* the foam down into it, but rather using a double stick tape, just did the sides.
