Where did you go for your oil change? If it's one of those quicky lube places, I'd stick to a 3000 mile schedule.

Well, I wouldn't go 6K miles. The manual calls for a change every 5K miles.

I changed mine at 1.2k and then again at 4k just for the fuck of it - I'm using recommended oil - you want a lighter oil when your still breaking in your engine.....You wont hurt anything by changing your oil! I do it myself so....its cheap

I've been using a fram oil filter that matches the one we need, and castrol 5w-20 - I might move to a full synthetic around 6k or so....

Has anybody on the forums running on 5w30 instead of the recommended 5w20?

I think most folks here use 5W30...I use 5W30 till I find the oil I like in 5W20. But that's no big deal cause they are virtually the same.

on ym CR-V I used Mobil 1 5W-30 and honda filter. mobil has announce that they have developed 5W-20 for mobil 1 brand. I felt the difference in pick up when using dinno oil vs. mobil 1. i stick to honda filters due to possible warranty infringments. they are just as cheap as store bought ones. I get mine from www.fairhondaparts.com AKA fair honda in danbury CT, they charge me a little over $3 with a the required replacable washer.
