i am planing on painting my head light housing black soon.i was wondering if any body has not passed state inspection becouse of this
what kind did you pass or fail with?

you wont have any problems with that. They only worry about low and high beam function. They wont even care about that. Your good, dont worry.

it'd be hilarious if you told him he'd pass, but he really would fail, and you're just telling him that to make him feel bad...... ... :P

Heh, not if you lived in PA.... Apparently it would be illegal....

You would have to go to a "performance friendly" inspection shop to pass...


In PA, the letter of the law states that Light assemblies, reflectors and lenses cannot be modified or have anything applied to them or removed in any way. The only thing you can do to add stuff is buy items that clearly display a "DOT-S.A.E. Legal" logo or stamp in them...


Oh, and color changes of bulbs is illegal of course too....
