Cons:
There's a definite road noise on these tires, but not so much at highway speeds as going through the hood. No surprise, no big deal.

Little rocks get tossed up on the car alot more than before. Not a big deal if you have mud guards, but you might hate it without them.

Pros:
WOW! Like a new engine in the car. It breaks from a standstill much quicker in regular driving. Boy the stock tires are really heavy! I havent really 'launched' yet, but its a noticeable improvement already.

Feels really stuck to the road. Easy, quick-flick turns, and agressive corners without a sound.

Did I mention the road noise? Sounds sporty...I kinda like it!

Curious what size tire and rims you went with in the azenis. How long have you had them? Any comments on overall wear? (curious because i am seriously considering the azenis)

My 2cents would be to rotate them regularly.

Any pics?

mmm ep with azenis...ahhhh

The pics are coming soon! but the weather is miserable here and the car is filthy. This weekend is an auto-x event and we're bringing a camera.

The wheels and tires are:

Konig Helium 15x6.5 silver (10.8lbs!!!)
Falken Azenis 205/50/15 (I swear they look 2" wider than stock)
Gorilla spline-drive lugs.

So far they've been on for 20 hours, and driven 15 miles.

I commute to work about 9 miles both ways every day, on good streets/hwy. And I plan to auto-x once a month.

I hope to get 15K out of the tires, but hey, theyre only $70 each, and I have a road hazard warranty.

Heliums in 15 and 17, bronze and silver will be added to the twiddler soon, and I'll post an announcement.

What is your impression of the quality of finish of the Helium?

I'm really iffy on them, not sure about build quality.

Pics would be great once there on

how does it affect the car by going with a smaller tire rim combo. the stock tires are 60's and you went with a smaller 50. does it change the car in any way, in 0-60, top speed, speedo numbers??

Yes, yes and yes. Faster 0-60, lower top speed, and spedo reads faster than actual.

You can definitely feel the 0-60 pickup. The speedo is off by I think 1 mph or so at 60. I'm not a top-speed guy.

So here's my impressions after a weekend of auto-x (my first time)

These wheels/tires perform excellent in auto-x. Very good deal bang-for-buck. If you are at all intimidated by the looks of bigger wheels, forget it, just get the 17's instead. They look small, just like stock, but are lightest for the price, so it depends on what you're after.

Im gonna have to put on my flame suit/vomit shield for sure. Some people are going to freak out because they arent big, and I'm not dropped. But I gotta admit, they do look way better than stock. :)

what's the load rating on those wheels?

should be stamped on the inside of the wheel's center.

the oz superleggera 15x7 have a load rating of 500kg. Stock wheels have a load rating of 560kg. almost as strong as stock, but 7lb lighter. not bad.

here's a pic of the oz's load rating stamp.

BlasTech

The load rating is also stamped on the Heliums (boldly), and its also 500 kg. That's like 1100lbs, right?

Pics status: My digital camera is cruddy, so I got a quality disposable that I've had good luck with in the past, and I turned in the film yesterday. I'm like, "I just want a CD, no prints please." and the the guy at the counter looks like me like I just asked Rembrandt to paint my fence. They should be ready today! :D

OK guys, the camera I used was a dud, I think I picked the wrong film speed or something, but I'm gonna snag the hi-res digital from work and take some more.

These are the least crappy of the ones I got with the cheapo cam.

Like I said before, these are a performance/value buy. The cash saved on not getting 17's can go to other mods and more tires.

Screw the bling, as long as the tires are fattys, it looks good to me!

I dont really drag race, but launching at auto-x (at 2500RPM) has been flawless, compared to the hopping/screeching nightmare on stock tires.

No drop right now, and I think that maybe these wheels look better with stock height. We'll see soon witht the ephatch twiddler.
