ask 10 people this question and you will get 11 answers. But here is my formula, its always worked well for me, hope it helps.

For the first 200 miles I baby it, driving very gingerly, shifting around 3000 rpms & light throttle use only. The next 200 miles I shift a bit higher, up to 5000 rpms and start using a bit more throttle. The next 200 miles I start taking it up to 6000 rpms occasionally, and maybe redline it a few times at light throttle. After 600 miles I start pushing it as hard as I want using full throttle and high rpms if needed. I changed my oil around 1000-1200 miles , but not everyone is into doing that, just my personal preference.

I can say driving that lightly is pretty hard, the first 400 miles are the hardest, trying to resist the urge to push it.

You will always get the guys that say they beat on it from day one and their cars always run fine without any problems. There is no real right or wrong answer, just a personal preference on how you want to break in your motor. The break in oil is pretty thin, so I think a slow break in process is better for the tight fitting parts, the owners manual seems to agree too. good luck.

Be sure to vary the rpms as much as possible too. Don't just cruise at 3000 rpms all the time. Use the entire range up to 5 or 6k, but take it easy, no need to floor it or anything.

works for me every time...

I read an article that said beat the crap out of the car as soon as possible, perferably before 20 miles so that the piston rings get a really good seal and therefore making more power. Sounds good, but I don't know if it works or not.

after i got it off the lot i drove it like i stole it, it's more fun that way

the car loves to fly now and it's hard for me to just cruise in it.... it whispers to me "faster, faster!"

Just drive it like you stole it. No since in worrying, you'll just end up messing up more. Chirp gears, peel out, oh! and drive regular too, this way your EP will respect you more.

I agree with X 2KS2K. To add on to it, when the car's cold keep it below 3.5K. Once it's warmed up make sure to vary your rpm. Also once in a while blip your throttle to allow it to run through the rpm range.
