Just wanted to post some pics of my recent stereo install, some of you had asked questions about how the new Clarion 835 matches with our dash so I threw in some night pics. Let me know what you think. Ill be putting baffles in the front doors next weekend and will post those pics then.

What about the wiring diagram ? can you do that for me :) plsss

I know some, but not sure.

If I remove my stock head unit, do I have to deal with security system ?

Thanks again

No, you dont have to deal with factory alarm system...just buy the wiring harness for our cars and wire it into the harness that comes with the head unit...the diagrams that show you how to wire it come with the headunit...hope that helps.

So how is the Clarion headunit I'm trying to decide between that and the Alpine-7894 not sure yet. Also was there much room in the doors for the components I have a set of perfects 6.1 not sure if they will fit though. BTW looks great

Very impressed with how the clarion deck sounds...the only Alpine head I had was an older model that ran factory speakers so I didnt really push it to see how good it could be...if your planning on running an amp, a good thing to watch is the preamp voltage...the clarion is 4 volts. Also, at night the clarion blends in nicely with the dash, no complaints.
About the perfects, my roomate got those for his car. There running right now off my old sony CDX M-770, they sound real good. Yeah, im pretty much positive that whatever components you get you'll have to end up cutting the door frame to get the speaker to fit flush. Paxie used tin snips in his DIY, I mounted the mounting bracket that the speaker screws into onto the door and used it as a guide to cut out the frame with dremel, took about 10 min per door, very easy...Also, Id highly recommend getting baffles to protect the speaker from water damage.

I currently have a MTX thunder 304 4channel amp for mids and highs, infinity perfects for the front, I'm not sure what i'm going to use for bass. I have a JL 8WO microsub that I picked up for $25. I thought it wouldnt take up much space but I dont think it will produce enough thump. I also have an Eclipse alum 12" with a U.S. Acoustics 800d sub amp 600*1 @ 2ohms, but I dont think the electrical system could handle both amps. I have a Kenwood Z828 mp3 cd-player but I want to keep the orange lighting theme. Just looking for the perfect headunit at the right price.

Id really consider the clarion unit, matches almost perfectly, got mine in a sealed box off ebay for $275 shipped...btw I would have looked a little harder for the silver mounting bracket but I plan on getting the carbon fiber trim kit and the black would blend in with it better than the silver.

What speakers are those that you installed for fronts ?

is it Infinity ? what series is that ? and how's the fit ?

Need to cut the doors ? drill new holes ? or just used crutchfield brackets ?

No you DO NOT Have to cut the doors to fit a speaker in there. You can use a Spacer ring, or call crutch field and ask for them they are about 12.00 for the set.

As for the rears you can install ANY 6.5" speaker in the rears. very simple to do you could do it your self.

There Infinity reference speakers, fitment was pretty good...for the tweeters just had to cut out the notches in the factory bracket, I used the whole saw I had from installing the same tweeters into my accord's door pannels...then used the flush mounting bracket the set comes with to install into the factory bracket...I ended up cutting the holes in the door to get the woofers to fit...
Id definately recommend doing some kind of sound proofing on the doors, it made a huge difference with road noise.

Looking to get a little better mid-range and more bass and happened to come acorss a deal I couldnt pass up, so I ended up picking up a kicker 2 and 4 channel amp. Im running both sets of components (front/rear) off the 4 channel and have the 2 channel with low pass filter on running a set of 6 3/4 rockford mid range woofers. Definately picked up a lot more clarity and bump with the switch. Here's some pics...

Just wondering on the Clarion how easy is it to read the display durring the day? I have heard red can be hard to read. I like it since it matches the dash.

Also is that the Clarion ProAudio DXZ835MP? I saw it on cruchfield.

Thanks

Yeah the clarion deck is tough to see during the day, not impossible though. Its the 835 model, I got it for $275 shipped off ebay in the sealed box. I would definately recommend it.

I have never owned a radar dedector. Are they really any good to have? I could see pre drilling the power cord hole for it in that shelf.

Not at all...the rear cover is made of pressed foam, no metal.
I just installed a JL 12w7 with JL 500/1 amp this weekend and will post pics shortly. If your looking for some serious bass I would highly recommend this setup.:D
