AWESOME!! I think your the first one with a completed buddy club body kit. The kit looks great! Where did you buy your kit from? Was the fitment and everything good? What about the HKS exhaust.....did it have to be moved around? :o

1320_si
03-09-2003, 06:27 PM
The kit fit great!!! The exhaust had to have the rear section cut, expanded and welded back over it's self. YOU CAN'T JUST RE-HANG IT! As most people think!~AJ

No the lower grill doesn't fit! No my car isn't lowered I have coil over's in my garage but I am to lazy to put them on plus the roads where I live are like drivin on a rally car course so I am not in any hury but you are right I need to do it I also have the wing but my body shop guy is almost as lazy as I am so he is taking his sweet a$$ time doing it.I will lower it and put the wing on and have updated pictures in a week! Brettnyt Thanks for the drop I love it! Now I have to do it in real life! Anyone wanna come over and help lower it?;) ~ AJ

can you see what clearance you ahve on the front bumper from the ground. that is the only thing i am worried about with the buddy club. i used progress springs and i am affraid i will sit to low and scrape on every driveway and speed bump. did you have to take of your front bumper support to make the jspec fit. and we are still waiting to hear where you ordered yours from.

I got the kit at garage-r.com (866)542-0244 talk to Jon. It cost me $1130 for the entire kit including the adjustable wing (that isn't on yet), and shipping to NC! The kit costs $650 plus shipping then the wing is more! The kit and wing is all fiberglass and it is the JDM Version(no impact beams) as there are two different kinds; USDM and JDM. PM showstoppers he has pics of both! Or go to The Garage-r buddy club thread in aerodynamics! I had no real fitment issues other than the HKS exhaust is literaly like tryin to fit a round peg in a square hole:mad:. There were some very minor issues that incure in all kits but nothing you will even notice unless you do your own body work. For a $650 kit it was Very good!~AJ

Cool man get your coil-overs on quick! It made a big difference in that photoshop.

Are you going to get jdm headlights or anything?

Our cars are going to look very similar :)

I payed $599 for mine from Aerotrends.com, yes it is a very top notch kit for the price, comes with pre-cut grilles, solid construction and looks like everything is labeled with a barcode or something, very professional.

I'll be a bit worried driving around without a bumper support so I'll have to install JDM ones, as much as I would enjoy having the k20 in my lap.

I don't think you should lower it; or lower it JUST A LITTLE. I like it like that.

Only thing I would change is the fart can. what did you do with your old bumpers?

I agree I don't relish the thought of my K20 in my lap either, but the USDM kit to me looks funny... (does anyone know what they have in Japan as far as a front and rear impact beem?) Anyway on the bright side I lost 100 lbs. of weight taking all that stuff off. That's the way I like to look at it in my little happy world. Another way to look at it is I most likely won't get in any trouble (law or insurance) for not having impact beems if I get into a wreck as I probably won't live!:( ~AJ

Thank you for all the props! I was going to put my coilovers on yesterday, But while I was in Afghanistan my four year old son got into the box and lost the "Little rubber o-ring spacer things" (which is the technical term). I called Skunk2 and they are gonna send me new ones this week. I will updaye pics as soon as possible. ~AJ

Looks good!:)

and you wont die from not having the bumpe supports, they're just 5 mph supports. They only prevent your bumper covers from getting mangled in anything under 5mph.;) Anything over that and the bar just collapses.

That looks great man, only mkes me want it more now.
Anyone have or know where I can see pics of both JDM ad USDM BC kits to tell the difference, I have never really paid attention to that.
I take it the USDM BC kit somes with support beams?

1320_si
03-18-2003, 09:47 PM
Showstoppers posted pics of the JDM And USDM kits together in "Areodynamics" So if you serch it you'll find it in there... Also the USDM kit dosen't come with support beams. It just is made wider in the bumper area to accomidate the ones that are already on your car the kit you are looking at now Is the JDM kit which is thinner in the upper bumper area (below the front grill) Thus not able to fit the support beam:) . ~AJ
