Ten Years Since Senna...
Well it has been ten years since Ayrton Senna was tragically killed at Imola. I remember that weekend vividly: Roland Ratzenberger died in Saturday's qualifying, Rubens Barichello came close, and finally, Sunday shocked us all.

Senna was a true racer: 65 pole positions, 41 victories, 3 world driving titles, all at a time when the tracks were littered with former champions. On any given day, Senna had to line up on a grid filled with the likes of Prost, Rosberg, Lauda, Piquet, Mansell...

I watched that race live and after he hit the wall my heart just dropped to see him not moving. Remembering it now still brings a tear to my eye:'(
On a side note Dale Earnhardt was my favorite driver and I will never forget The Man In Black

what about Alex Zanardi?
that man had his legs literally ripped off by a 200+ mph T bone!!!
and HE WAS STILL CONTIOUS!!!!!
I didnt even know what F1 was when Senna died....in the past 7 years though, it has played an intrecate roll in my life as a spare time enjoyment....
Senna to me was the LAST GREAT F1 driver...right before the cars basically began to drive themselves...the guys from the begining to the late 1980's were the real drivers...no TCS, no automated clutches and gearboxes. Just you and the car...

and you wonder why those guys broke their necks in a side impact?
( I know Senna died when his wheel broke off, bounced off the gaurd rail and hit him in the head.)
they had NO support latterally for thier necks...F1 has come a LONG WAY since the begining:confused:

when I watched the race last night on f-1 decade, it had been 10 years since I had seen it. I did not remember EXACTLY how he died. the rear bar on the right front, upper A-frame (upper control arm) actually came through his visor. he had no chance. if not for the right front suspension being sheared off and thrust back, he would have probably been spared. if he was still with us, schumi would not be the record holder he is today.:'(
