My gauge install and wiring clean up...

Well I finally got around to sorting out the mess under my dash and installing some gauges. The wiring was literally a rats nest, removing the lower panel resulted in a tangled mess of alarm related, audio and relays to hang down. I was hesitant but after disconnecting one wire at a time and starting the car, all was well.
My gauges of choice for the EP are Autometer Sport Comps analog for the tach, digital for the monitoring. I will admit the taco meter is a tad gaudy, and will probably switch to the 2" Pro Shift 2 at a later time.

Never liked it in the center console. Honestly dont like it at all. But the car came with it and once I find a cheap harness I plan to eliminate it.

I am not a fan of digital gauges either, but they are electric and at the very least I plan to go analog for the oil pressure gauge on the steering column to match the taco meter. Assuming I dont go with the Pro Shift set up wich is really nice. I hooked one up on a friends S2k; very clean and discreet.
Well I just thought I would share.
On a side note, my reason for the tach (not that I need to justify my motives) the stock cluster is very inaccurate. The stock tach is off by a couple hundred rpm's off idle, reads high in general, and can not keep up during hard driving. Being off (slow) by almost 1000 rpm's at red line during hard pulls and braking/downshifting according to Kpro and my scared out his mind assistant.

Autometer. Tge tach is a Sport Comp2 mini monster the rest are Sport Comp digitals.

My bad, oil pressure on the column, volts and water temp. The water temp I do not feel is that important, but the volt meter looked lonely in the console. As it turns out the Kpro'd ecu will throw a cel and run in limp mode over lower voltage outputs. I am running an Odyssey compact battery on a 10 year old alternator so I feel that is important enough to monitor and oil pressure is ever important, especially on an engine that sees 8600 rpm's on a somewhat regular basis with a bit more on the way. I will eventually replace the water temp with a wide band/uego at some point once the new engine goes in. Then I'll be looking at 9k plus revs and more than likely a 0-150 psi oil gauge.
God is in the details and I will admit it's kind of busy, but I have a bit more to throw at her before I'm satisfied. Not a lot more, but enough to warrant watching. Then I will gradually tone her down much like I did with my 240sx.

How are u getting the signal for the water temp.

The radiator hose adapter lined into the upper hose about 4" away from the water outlet. From this point I was able to run the sending wires straight into the main engine harness and inside the black plastic tube that runs next to the head. Thats about as clean as I could get it.
