Vote for your favorite intake and tell me why! :)
I voted Injen Race Division. Because, I have it, and it sounds great and I can feel a noticeable power gain.
injen cai.....looks better than the others, (can actually see it) and dyno charts show the best intake gains so far.... i will be purchasing this soon.
I picked the Injen Race division because it seems to show the best gains and I have it and with my header took about .7-.8 seconds off my 1/4 mile time and added 3-5mph in trap speed as well
Injen b/c I have it. Sounds nice, feels nice.
AEM CAI, because they always perform well. they dont need to inflate their numbers to sell their product (dyno results) ... And i got a great deal on one IMO :)
Injen. My first mod and a great one at that.
I could do without the "bling" of it all, but that's fixable.
Steve
i chose injen race division besause dyno's show less hp loss in the lower end and i kinda like the idea that it helps the torque drop of stock in the 3500-4500rpm range.
uh, i voted for the aem CAI because i am biased. i have the aem CAI. i say just get any CAI. they are all around the same price and same gains. just don't bother with a sri.
Thanks everyone for your replies! You have been very helpful!
Keep voting and thanks again!
petra.. check out this thread for a link to some good info for dyno testing intakes. -- Joe

Thanks joe!
fave so far is injen cuz it looks good and puts up good numbers

A.E.M. is the only intake that I would buy. My old civic had one, and my new civic has one (c.a.i.). My buddy has a short ram A.E.M on his Accord it rocks! I've heard other intakes, D.C.'s DAC, Iceman, Injen, K&N and from my opinon A.E.M. has the best sound. As far as Hp gain, I'm banking that their all similar. I'm intrested in this V2 though it should be interesting.
The new AEM V2 looks really cool. :p Does anyone know when it will come out or if it will come out for our cars?
Thanks for all your replies!

By the looks of it, I would say that it does not fit our cars.
Just not pointing the right way up top. It looks like it would
aim more towards the the rear of the engine bay. Mounts are
different too. Anyone know what gains are to be had? (I know they say it
outpreforms the origional AEM CAI)

The model pictured may not be for our car, but with the RSX and us sharing the same basic layout, I'm sure they'll make one for us.
Steve
where could i get a good price on an injen cai??
Nopi.com has a decent price. I think it was 190 YMMV.
I voted for injen cai, cause i have it :). But I would have liked to have voted for ANY CAI. I think that AEM would be great, so would Comptech or even the DC Sports...but since I got a great deal on the Injen CAI from nopi (198 shipped and they don't just have the "blingin' one now), I went with that.

Dunno about the Version 2 HP gains or differences but the reason for the release was that their standard Intakes were not keeping on par with Injen and customers were converting due to the better performance gains from simillar companys, thus AEM unveiled their new V2 at Sema, basically the only advantage AEM had over Injen was their patented Bypass valve, which was the deciding factor in many cases on which Intake to purchase, but with Injen showing their own Bypass at Sema AEM had to make some effort to win back consumers.
blah....intake this intake that......JUST BUY ONE. ...lol.......i think there is like 10 threads on intakes. lloll...aem and injun are good companys...
I like my K&N Typhoon for now, but will more than likely get a CAI (AEM, Injen or Comptech Icebox) of some kind sooner or later for a little better performance.
aem got more votes.. but most of these replies are for the injen.. hmmMMM.... im getting an intake too this week.. was 99% goign for aem. but now im not sure again :( i guess ill just go for the paxie filter. i like that the best.

This is so true..i love my intake even though it is just intake..but they perform well..and Im happy with it...not to mention got it for 109.00...:D
IMO
they are all the same, its like buying the same shampoo in a different colored container.
i have seen the dyno tests on this new AEM V2 intake...same idenical power curve jus the power comes in sooner on v2 but power cuts off sooner too....looked like same dyno jus had the power in a earlier rpm...its all hype...
i had an ex aem cai on my 99 si ,,,the smaller tube looked funny compared to my friends...but it performed like none other...cai is jus that..i beat same cars as me but with header and exhaust and cai....while i only had a cai off my old ex i still beat these cars...i never thought twice about getting the 1 specifically made for my si......i already had it:p
Anyone else that installed their own AEM intake a little skeptical about the V2 actually fitting in there, I dunno about you guys but I had one hell of a time squeezing that sucker down there, doesn't seem to me that another inch in diameter would be possible
i voted for the AEM CAI b/c i used to have an injen one and it let me down...and does anyone know if the V2 is out for the EP3?
i think the v2 is crap. everybody with a car has the aem now so their sales are not shooting through the roofs anymore. how can you sell more if it seems like your sales have peaked? make a new one that looks groovy and say it kicks the old one's ass.
this is my attempt at telling myself not to buy the v2 if it comes out for our car. :D
and yeah i think the current AEM fits just barely and this new v2 would have to be a little different, like the injen race.

Injen CAI did have a better gain in horsepower, 8. Torque was only 2. AEM CAI was 4.5 HP and 5.4 torque. I bought the AEM cause the Injen failed emissions and the installation makes you relocate the fuse box (big no-no).
Injen passed emissions and what's wrong with relocating the fuse box?
steve
AEM CAI all the way, just because it's the name that you can trust. When you think of the best, you think of AEM. Relocating the fuse box sounds like a pain. That's time I could spend driving.
I just ordered an injen CAI from nopi online. Why? I've heard more people raving on here over the injen rather than the AEM, and I like that the dyno results most of its power in the higher RPMs as opposed to the lower RPM power of the AEM. I was also tired of waiting for the Icebox to come out, and I've gotten over my fear of hydrolock while driving in the rain. Its just not going to happen unless the thing goes underwater, and I'm on the gas.
I can't wait to get it... its my first 'real' mod. It should be here mid-next week. :D
Injen all the way... the specs say enough... and though relocating of the fuse box is no big deal... it really only shifts it... and they give you the bracket... I've always been a fan of aem but they're numbers compared to the injen didn't impress me.
Yes , I know CAI's make more HP than SRI's. But what about the HKS Short Ram. Not alot of shops carry it , much less Have it.Its the best SRI I, ( and my friends highly agree) , have ever tried. My friend with the injen'd 2002 Si liked my HKS better.
Anyway, its just a thought. :D
