well guys the turbo is in and i took some pics. but during the tuning process, my motor blew. now i need to spend another 4Gs to get a new k20a2 motor.

crank shaft does not normally just break. spun a rod? over-revving?

so i just paid 1000 for installation for the turbo. now i have to buy another motor for about 3200 and 1000 for labor.
Should have kept the bike. Sorry bro, get a k24 and install it yourself. it's not that hard. More info and what went down. Something dose not sound right about this. You had to have overboosted or over reved or the tuner is a tool.
thats bs man, sorry to hear that. they dont cover that at all? thats not normal to blow a damn motor while you are tunning. i hope they are not suckering you in to use them to do an a2 swap. you get get a a2 for less and its pretty much a straight drop in there. if they blew your motor theres no way i would ever go back to them for something esle. me personally would give them hell

The shop is not liable for any of it. This kind of work is at your own risk. Motors will blow and that's the bottom line, unless you can prove he (the tuner) was negligent and did not do something that should have been done. But something is not right about all of this, Get some pics of the damage.
Off 10psi? :mmph: I'd get an arbitrary opinion on the damage before you fork the cash out.

did you ask them what went wrong? what blew? We need to know more before we can help you. There are a ton of things that could have gone wrong that the tuner could not prevent. If your injectors stoped, oil system stoped, or a number of other factors.

Like said before, The motor should not just blow. I had my k24a1 tuned and we did 30-40+ pulls to redline and at 10psi and i had no problem. Something went wronge and untill you find out what i.e. tuner or parts, you wont know. If the motor is good it should not blow. If the tuner is bad, it can be blown up. I myself don't like high comp, and boost. I like a low comp and high boost. You are playing a dangerous game with high comp. and boost. You would be better off with a k24a2 with low comp. and boost. Post some pics.
swap another a3 for cheap, and bring it to evans
If he is gunna put another motor in he should put in a k24 from papi. The k24 is lower comp. and the tq is worth the few extra bucks.

You need to look at whatever you signed. Copy it and post it up here. Also see if, no demand you get a copy of your data log with a/f and let us look at it. If he leaned it out to the point were it blew then he should have shut it down before that point. If your running kpro he should have set up lean cut. Get those things and let us tell you what we think.
I know how you feel and it dose suck. My buddy blew my motor and i was in a tight spot as well. You will get it fixed. Since you sold yoru bike for the turbo do you have any way of getting around now? I will never mod my car with anything other then bolt ons unless i have another car incase things like this happen.

We can't tell you why it blew, we need more info to help you figure that out. We just don't have enough to go on the help. What was your setup?
When i went to fastlane in houston tx all i did was sign the paper work for the bill. It may be in there policy, you need to read that. Most places wont take the blame if the motor blows, they will say it's just one of those things that happens and there is no way to tell what motor is going to make it.
hopefully i can get the print out for the tune because the guy that did it came from another shop. but i can post the pics before it blew and all the paper works
