Painting an intercooler
Would painting an intercooler hurt it any? I did a search and didnt see anything. I was just wondering if someone wanted to keep a "sleeper" look instead of a big ass silver intercooler showing, could they just paint the intercooler black? Will it hurt the flow at all? Or maybe even completely block it?

Won't block it or appreciably hurt airflow, but it does inhibit heat transfer at the fins. How much so depends on the paint and how much you glob on. Any coating on top of aluminum will decrease the effectiveness slightly.
I wouldn't worry though. Just use very light coats.

ive read mixed things about this, im sure with light coats youll be fine

I would just be afraid to because of even the slightest possibility of heat transfer loss. But, like it's been said, I wouldnt think that just a light coat would keep ehat from getting transferred. I was hoping someone had done it and had the experience to share, you know?

spend the coin and have it anodized black. anodization is super thin and will last muchhhh longer.

And that would cost what? lol I wouldnt be THAT concerned with hiding it if it were to cost a bunch of money. lol

i'm not sure. i would imagine 50 bucks or so
