The wireing is just about the same as any normal HID conversion, its the kit itself that provides dual hi/low beams. Its only for H4 bulbs.. they are working on 9007 dual mean. reason being is they have extra wireing (relay kit) that makes it possible for the Hi and low beam

for further info.. u can check this link .. http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/hidconkith4h.html

Anyone wanna do a DIY on how exactly to do this?

I mean most HID conversion companies say they'll include instructions and it is *easy* to do.

But I would appreciate it if someone could take some photos and do a little write up on how they did it.

    TIA.

i think its pretty straing forward.. just plug and play... only thing u have to worry about is where u want to hide the ballast and starter.. i hid my ballast right underneath the headlight unit.. so its hidden' n out of sight, so no one can see the wirering.. but i had to take out the front bumber and the headlights to put my HID's on.. sorry no pics cuz i got mines done almost a year ago..

I own a DIY kit that my friend helped me put together. Ill have to take pics and Ill write up how we did the whole install........but I gotta get some pics first. I only have a lowbeam "kit". I paid a total of $200.........well actually $208 but still.. My friend deals with lots of HID and does installs for lots of people and he happened to have a pair of bulbs and ballast sitting for sale. I bought those and bought H4 casper shields from casperelectronics.com. Ill give more info when I talk to him and get some pics. ;)

for the H4 hi/low beam kits.. that i got it came with it.. (i think it all should) unless its single beam HID.. my friend got one online for his black ep 8000k but not K2 brand.. forgot wah brand it was.. but its a single beam .. even if he bought relay kit for it.. it still woulnd't work because its a single beam HID not Dual (hi/low) beam kit...

That means you give up the high beam, right? I read up on XenonDepot.com and they say that for H4 kits, you'll loose high beam unless you do some extensive modification (non-reversable). Also, their kit cost more than $500. I know that's probably a good price seeing how most euro. car makers charge anywhere from $500 to $1000 for single Xenon to bi-xenon straight from the factory. Only caveat is, those kits include self-adjusting mechanism which I assume these retro-fit kits do not.

But still, $200?? That's cheap. It is worth getting. I would appreciate it if you or someone else would write up a DIY. Thanks.

Im gonna try to do a write up on it......but not soon.......need a digicam so I can explain with pics...........its hard to explain without them. Basically.........if you can find OEM HID parts as in the bulbs and the ballast.......then you should pretty much be set......try ebay to find them......you can find them pretty cheap.

Our beam pattern stock is pretty damn good in my opinion compared to the older civic headlights.......even better then the 01 civics. It seems like ours are a little more sharper and crisp. Our stock headlight reflectors put a lot of decent light to the ground. The do make H4 low/high beam kits for a decent price. I think they do range between $400 to $600 depending on the kit. I was looking into the autolamps-online.com kit. They are pretty reputable and have good kits. I recommend the 4100k kit and nothing over.......unless you want that very BLUE or PURPLE look. but 4100k is the best........for actual lighting purposes.

I used these shields for my conversion.

This is an example of what we did to reduce glare..........and to make that OEM color...*blueish/white*.....with the 4100k bulb. We painted the inside with flat black....nonreflective...heat resistent paint.

    catz got a dual hi/low h4 kit.
    starts from ~600 at www.liteswap.com

    http://www.liteswap.com/hociw45.html

seems like this kit is engineered in Japan.
unlike those chessy ebay DIY kit..
which means the focal point is very closed to the halogen bulb's focal point (less glare!!!)
