welcome back!
I totally understand. Age changes tastes... most of the time anyways.
I def hear you on reliable and inexpensive power adders. There are tons of options out there in the aftermarket... but just as many on the OEM front.
If you don't mind putting in the wrench time, read up on VTEC killer setups, or using a k24a1 head on your stock a3 for more flow. Parts that easily provide reliable daily driven power for the addict in you are out there. : )

@Tnhatch03- thanks!!
@Ba82Ep3- The OEM route is most likely the way I will go, I just have to do lots of research since it's completely different than the route I went last time. Thanks for the tips-- yer making me more excited to get this all started. :-D I think we were callin' the K24 head/stock bottom compbo a franken motor *puts on best old woman voice and gums her words* "Back in my day". :P
Guess I better start reading over on K-series.com again, too. :D
LOL im well into my 30's, so dont sweat age. :mredface:
Dont forget to check out www.k20a.org as well. There is a lot more info on this site than there was years ago... and plenty of brains to pick!
If I was going to leave the majority of the new ride stock, I would opt for a K24A1, 310 injectors and stock EP3 intake, exhaust, and ECU. It is a great little city street terror then, gobs of torque to use that long third of the stock 5spd. Lotsa room for upgrades, with the first being Kpro at that point.
