tire pressure for 215/45/17?

Check the tire, its always listed.

i know the stock pressure is 33f/30r

then i upgraded it to 215/45/17...do i need to increase the pressure?

the max tire pressure is stamped on each of your tires....i would go a little under for a smoother less "rough" ride. if the max is like 45 i would do 40....thats what i always do that is. if you really low your gas mileage will suck, you'll wear your tires super fast and the performance will suck.......basically EVERYTHING will suck! lol :D

I was told by a honda tech who works on alot of modded cars that for my 205/40R17 tires the stock rating of 33f/30r is still good. If anything up to 5lbs more than that per wheel, but no more...

Not sure if that helps you or not, but I think it would apply...

yeah, I agree, it's pretty much going to stay the same.

I think the only way (off track) to tell is to look at the tread; if the middle of the tire is wearing faster than the outside you have too much pressure. If the outside is wearing faster you have too little air pressure. Now if only the inside or outside is wearing you have more problems than pressure;)

oh yes i brought this one back guys. i am running 40 psi front and rear on my 215-45-17s. i am dropped on progress springs with both the front and rear progress sways. i have been hearing that my tire pressure may be a bit high but i am worried bout fuckin up my rims if i lower it. thoughts?

if you're worried about rim damage, i'd keep the pressures as high as possible w/o adversely affecting treadwear. your ride quality will suffer, but that's comes with the territory.
