Question What's the best Clay bar to use.

There's so many out there. I'd like to get some opinions on some of them before I buy one.

I have yet to hear anything good about the Meguair's clay bar. I guess it leaves shit all over your car.

I've used the Mother's California Gold Bar. It did a great job, but it's not very pliable. Even when warm, it doesn't want to fold or stretch much. It can be a little pricey depending on where you get it.

I'll be using the Clay Magic pretty soon. It has a smaller bottle of included lube/quick detail, so you shoul plan on getting an extra bottle of quick detailer (any brand will work). It is supposedly a little tackier and easier to fold and stretch than the Mother's bar. Plus you can usually get the kit's at Autozone for about $10. Sometimes less.

I'd say that you would be fine with both the Mother's and Clay Magic.

Mothers. Hands down, I've used meguiars and griots in the past they suck. They leave shit all over the paint. Mothers is the smallest but works the best. Should be around 15.00 for the kit.

How do you use a claybar properly? I have the meguiars one, but have not used it yet. Are they reusable or is it use once and throw away?

    Thanks

They come with directions, but basically you spray some quick detailer on a small area and then rub the clay back and forth like an eraser. Just don't use a lot of pressure, or you could mar the paint.

You can reuse them a few times, just don't drop it or you'll have to throw it away!
