    Why can't companies just make 16's?

    I can't decide on what wheels to get. I want 16's but it seems like every company makes a 15" wheel and a 17" wheel.

    I was set on the RnR replicas from Rota but they only come in 15. Then I was looking at the Tarmacs, but they only come in 17". I was also looking into the Konig Heliums but they only come in 15 and 17.

    I don't really want 15's but if it comes down to it I might ust have to get them; I refuse to go with a 19(wtf?).

    I might just end up getting some slipstreams. :D

    Quick chop of the RnR's on a slammed ep.

    when I get my car back it will have the JDM front bumper and sides along with the Mugen grill.

    what other wheel should I be looking into?

    Another quickie.

    BTW, my car isn't lowered anymore and I doubt it will be anytime soon because I'm holding out for a full set up.

    5zigen has a set of wheels that looks similar to that. There is a Honda OEM wheel that has a similar look.

    I personally would go for the 15" wheels. lighter weight, cheaper tires, more tire options for 15" wheels as well, easily double the selection of 16" wheels.

    Yeah, 16's seemed like the obvious choice for me (I was going to get Rota Circuit 8's) then I started looking for tires to go with them, and quickly decided 15's.

    I'm happy with em.

    If I were you I would try and get some used 16" forged wheels. LE37s, TE37s, gram lites, etc. You can find them for fairly cheap used sometimes but they are well worth the extra money IMO!

    If not just go with the 16" slips, or black subzeros with a polished lip!

    I mught just end up getting 15's then. I like the way your car looks BlasTech. I thought having 15's without a drop would look goofy, but it doesn't look bad at all. If I get 15's I'll be running a 50 series tire which will make the wheel wells look even bigger:(

    Which tires were u using Blastech? I dont remember:o

    Those are Konig Helium 15x6.5 wheels with Falken Azenis 205/50/15.

    The diameter of the 205/50 tire is just over a quarter inch smaller diameter (.3" to be exact) and this will effectively create shorter gearing-->quick acceleration/lower top speed.

    By the way 205/55/15s are actually a full half inch larger diameter.

    I think the key to it looking acceptable with 205/50s is in having agressive-looking wide tires like Azenis, and having the mud-guards (which I highly recommend anyway if you're getting into sticky tires), but the look still does take some getting used to.

    I got these wheels/tires to auto-x with and to putter around with, but I kept the stockys for anytime I want to switch back for a trip out of town or something.

    The whole setup was $960 installed with lugs/spacers/road hazard warranty from Discount tire, 4 blocks from my house, which is reassuring, since they are slightly less than the stock load ratings for wheels/tires. :)

    Yeah I'm getting Azenis too. Not for autoX but for canyons; I know these tires will be bald within a couple weeks though:(

    machiii.net was where I was doing my wheel shopping and used that image to photochop the wheels onto the above pics. Only problem is the fact that they only ocme in 15x6.5:(

    People are telling me to just wait and get 16's, the shorter stiffer sidewalls will help muchO in the canyon. I just figured that Azenis already had a stiff enough sidewall so 15's with a 50 series should handle pretty good already.

    the 225/50/15 has a sidewall that is less than half an inch taller than the 225/45/16. overall wheel/tire diameter is about the same.

    go to tirerack.com and see how many options there are for the two sizes. 22 options for the 225/50/15, 9 options for the 225/45/16

    if you look at the bridgestone pole posision s-03, they run 160+ per tire for the 16" and under 130$ for the 15"

    not to mention you can get the g-force kd, yokohama a032r, a variety of competition grade tires and pretty much all the options you have in the 16"

    and to be honest, you're not gonna notice that extra bit of sidewall deflection all that much, esp if you get a tire with a really stiff sidewall to begin with.

    16" konig "holes" with 205/55/16 Falken Azenis . The wheel and tire combo are about 4lbs lighter than stock.
