Well I can confirm the skunk2's would have fit fine, if it wasn't for konis

Yeah, I was pissed. So I assume I can get some GC's that will fit with the konis. I don't get it, Koni really did try their best to give us the hardest install in the world. They even advertise that any spring/coilover will fit thier shock. Well I'll be emailing them about this. I'm not sure if I can modify the koni shock to fit the skunk2's
Here's a pic of how the koni is too wide and won't let the skunk2 sleeves go all the way down:

This next pic isn't mine, just using for referrence. As you can see on the top of the koni insert the part that is round and wider than the rest of the koni, that's what is keeping the skunk2's from going on

So I'm pissed. I'll have to sell these and get some GC I guess :( If those even fit, from looking at some pics FACTION95Si posted here

it looks like they are the same width as the konis? If so, then no coilovers fit the konis?????

Man I would be pissed!

I do remember having to double up on the thicker O rings that go around the stock strut so the GC sleeve would be snug around the strut. How tight is the skunk 2 sleeve around the stock struts? I know that Tony (Mugen EP) has GCs and Konis in the rear.

One more thing. To get the sleeve on I had to pop/pry off the gold cap thats on the stock strut. Once I put the sleeve on I hammered the cap back on. It says to do it in the instructions.


You can see it in this picture but its not gold. Right where the shaft comes out of the strut.


Im not sure if the Koni has something similar? Is the whole strut bigger than the sleeve?

you know that gold part you took off the stock shock? The skunk2 sleeve fit over that fine, but on the koni, there is lip part similar to the stock gold piece, but it's part of the koni. I had to use a dremel to shave it down. It's all good now :D
