    it's not hard to do. take out the housing, drill a hole in the rear of it, so you can put a socket in it. wire to how you want it to light up. need more info e mail me.

    Speaking of which......

    With the US-spec (and Canadian?) blank part, that section of lens does not appear to be molded in one piece along with the rest of the outer housing.

    In other words, it seems that if one could get a hold of just the JDM amber lens section, then it could replace the US red lens section. That would create a JDM Type-R taillight cluster with a LOT fewer new parts -- and much lower cost -- than a whole, intact JDM cluster.

    Would it be possible? Is that section permanently bonded to the rest of the lens plastic, or could it be separated?

    good question....i thought i was the only one wondering that ...but ithink that maybe just a weldline from the factory where they just change inserts...
