Well, you would need a manifold for the turbo and depending on the configuration of the turbo, the plumbing might be a pain in the ass.

Yep, anything can be fabricated, but there's no way of knowing if it will end up costing you more than a for-EP kit.

On the other hand you might make some quick cash selling it on E-bay to a NA impreza/legacy/outback owner... ;)

Most people going turbo are using the T3 hybrid series because of the ease of their flange, and the design..If you look at the flange on yours which is either 4 or 5 bolts, if my memory is correct, on the exhaust side you can see the added difficulties with adding the downpipe, so on etc..

as a word of advice. you really should look at the manufactor's efficiency map for ANY turbo before you spend the money to put it on your car.

    Good How to..

    yep....

the wrx turbo's are spec'd to run 14-15psi i think. that's where they are most efficient.

all the dyi'ers out there that use turbo's off of factory cars are going about it wrong. sure you have turbo in your car now...but in order to make those turbos efficient...you'd need to run it at a similar boost level as they do from factory.

i doubt your engine will handle 15psi.

The T-25 ran in the Rex's are made to run at 13-15psi for efficiency reasons like JackHerer said, but in reality the turbo is too small to run at a safe psi, like 5-8 on stock internals and would more than likely yield losses than any significant gains.

Go with a good T3 setup and just sell the Rex turbo on Ebay/NASOIC/RS25. I'm sure there are plenty of soon-to-be 2.5ers out there that are looking to do Rex swaps or swap in the turbo itself.

Four words: E to the Bay.

The amount of money and time you will invest on trying to make this work will really add up. You have a great friend, since he just gave you a good down payment on your new Cybernation or SFP kit.
