What does the vinegar do to the paint?? It's a base so wouldn't it do some type of damage or does it just strip off te impurities??

I think vinegar is an acid? You can use it to remove minerals in etched water spots on your windows and paint. You want to dilute it with water first though.

Vinegar is acetic acid, and table vinegar is a 5% strength solution. It is a very good non-abrasive method for removing water spots and mineral deposits on paint.

Bingo.

Out of the hundreds I've spent on Meguiars, Zaino, etc etc, a $2.00 gallon of vinegar from store has been my best investment for detailing.

no water spots on my paint

i get my car detailed every 2 months
and 2-3 car wash's weekly in AND out weather permitting

sure it costs alot but if u REALLY car about your car you clean it as much as you mod it:D

I just tried using a little bit of vinegar on some of my water spots... WOW! i had never thought it would work so well.... Works great if you have to wash your dark car in the sun and the water dries on it... I just used it on a couple small spots, water and vinegar mixture, wipe on, wipe dry... Damn, ive got a lot of swirl marks... :(

I have heard using vinegar on the windsheild and other class for water spots and it does work great. I have heard the down side is on the paint is that it will stip the wax off the car just like using dish soap.

Only when my car has that, you know, not so fresh feeling. I'ver never heard of it but it probably works. The best way to not get water spots on your car is to not wash it when it is hot, especially if it is black. If you do have to wash a black car in the hot sun you can wash one side, dry it, then wash the other side.
