This is a pretty cool calculator.
i have 205/40/17s on my car its not off at all its same over all size
if you want you can use the tire calc on http://www.7thgencivic.com/stuff/tire_calc.cfm
I've posted this reply a couple times before, but I was told by a Tire Rack rep. that a 205/40/17 is the correct size to use, as it is the closest to factory height. A 215/40/17 is a little taller. This is what I was told, and most places also seem to recommend a 205/40/17, presumably for this reason. If you're going to 18s, a 225/35/18 is closest to stock.
so with my 205/45/16s am i throwing my speedo off? if so by how much? how about my odometer? is it actually putting in more miles than i am traveling? i didn't notice much of a diff in the odometer.
thanks guys, i think i'll go with 205/40/17, because they come on the rims i want, and its cheaper that way, later
according to the miata calc a 215/45-17 would be the closest only .2% slower than stock.
a 205/40-17 is 3.1% to fast. I think I would trust tirerack more than the miata calc though:D
I just got off the phone with tirerack and was told that the exact tire size match would be 205/45/17. I went to the tire diameter calculator at discount tire and verified that this is correct. Both the stock wheel and the 205/45/17 have a diameter of 24.2 inches. The next closest match would be 215/45/17 with a diameter of 24.6 inches. This would make you speedo read 1.6% slow, or about 60mph when your doing 61 mph. The 205/40/17 would be 23.5 inches a differnce in speed of 3%. You would be showing 60mph on the speed when your only doing 58mph. Hope this helps, I'm doing my research on upgrading wheels now. Thinking of the Superleggeras in white for my white SI. Here is a link to the tire size calculator at discount tire.

IMO the best overall fit you could change to Is the 225/35/18... That is if it fits...
There is a note on www.ozwheels.com about tire spacers and trimming to the cars wheel well with that tire. I am torn between the gun metal or the white. Though a ~$50 price difference per wheel could be the deal breaker. Hmmm....Originally posted by PogoFX

i'm going to get the gun metal Superleggeras next month, i hope, what do you mean trimming to the cars wheel well with that tire, what tire, and what trimming, thanks, later.
Go to the OZ site at this link and select Fitment Guide. Enter in the 2002 Honda SI and it will bring up the wheels that fit. Selecting the Superleggera shows no notes. There is a place for them but nothing is listed. It appears that it fits for all sizes. Did I miss something somewhere else?
