    Amp question

I'm looking for an amp to power my front speakers which are infinity perfect 6.1 components and two xtant Z104 subs the subs are rated at 200w RMS. I'm looking at the Xtant 403A http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/XTA403AB what do you guys think?

That's not a bad deal at all. The only thing that stands out in my mind is that it uses a fully regulated power supply, meaning that it puts out the same power whether it gets 14v or 12.2v. However, when the voltage drops to 12.2v (usually during heavy bass), a regulated supply has to compensate by pulling more current and the amp can get hot.

That's the issue I've run into with my current amp, an Arc 4150. I'm sure I could get by with replacing the battery and perhaps looking at a 1farad cap, but for the price of the one you linked, that's a great deal.

Do you think that will be enough power for the components and two subs?

well I downloaded the pdf file user's manual, and it says that it gives 50w @ 4ohm to the components, and 100w to the sub. That's a bit underpowered, but it would surely handle a component set and one sub. If you used a dual voice coil subwoofer (rated at dual 4 ohm), your final load would be 2ohm, and the amp puts out 200w at 2ohm, so that'd be plenty! Just remember, if you put two subs in series on one channely, they SPLIT the power, so each sub would only get 100w if you bought two dual 2ohm subs.

hehe if that's clear as mud, feel free to let me know and I'll try and clarify. :)

looked like a good deal so I thought what they hey I'll try them. I'm just looking to use a single amp for the components and subs and not break the bank. Thanks for the help. Any other amp recommendations are greatlly appreciated

Well I'll tell ya, with the amp you selected, your sub choice will be pretty good. They'll each see 100w, which is sufficient.

Heya ssvr6! I sent you an email a while back, btw! Sorry to hear about your ride man. :(

You did? To what account? Yahoo? If so, I deleted it by accident since it's my default address for registering on most boards.

Hit me up at webmaster@k-series.com and thanks about the car. It could have been worse, it could have been taken.

    That's a great deal.

The 302a is 75x2, the 301a is 300x1. Nice stuff.
