    how to fix crooked shiftknob?

My shiftknob (RSX optional aluminum) screws on crooked. Right when the thread stops, and the knob is on tight, the shift pattern etched on the knob isn't straight but turned about a 2 o'clock position.

Is there anyway to fix this or is my knob screwed up?

When I got my CTR Boot ;) , I put on the RSX knob and it wouldn't be straight too. Plus the it became really loose if you turn it a little.

I got teflon tape from a plumbers store and it worked PERFECT. Knob stays straight and doesn't want to move around at all.

One thing, have you tried using that knob in the summer. It is burning!

how do you use the teflon tape on the knob? I am using the RSX-S shiftboot adapter like was posted in a thread by another ephatcher a few days ago, but it doesn't really allow any room for a locknut...

You wrap the teflon tape around the threads on the brass arm. Then screw the knob on. You gotta wrap at least 5-6 layers, then it will be on very tight.

all you gotta do is loosen the bolt a little bit, then the knob should tighten up and be straight.

How does RSX-S shiftboot adapter work? Can I pick it up at local Acura dealer or do I need to buy on-line? PICs, price, part-number??

    Thanks
