NEED HELP!! Problems with VAFC version 2 controller

Two days ago I installed my Apex I version 2 VAFC controller, and boy have I had a hell of a time. My check engine light came on and it wouldnt let me rev past 4,000 rpms. The only way that I could fix it was to turn my car on an off, and then it would run fine. But then after ten minutes of run time it would do the same thing all over again. The only way to fix it was to set all of my settings on the controller back to default. Anyone have any advice?? Or does anyone have any advice of who to talk to, or what website would be of service??? Thanks for ur time.

you know those things are supposed to be tuned by some one with a dyno and a/f meter right? It's probably sending all kinds of crazy signals to your car, so your car goes into limp mode.
