Tach Install! Help me out Fast!

Hey, i know this isnt the right forum but it is the most busy. Well, i am trying to install a Autometer tach. Its just a regular old black faced tach w/ no shift lite. Anywayz we are having trouble finding the wires to tap into. We called a local shop and they told us we have to send the tach to Autometer for some connection that works w/ the SI and RSX. I know its not tru since i have seen many people on this site hook up tachs. Can u guys please help me out w/ this wiring? thanx...chris.

Both a shift light and a tach need an RPM signal, correct? I'm
thinking they both use the same wire.

i dont know, i have never done this. I heard the SI and RSX have a blue wire near the fusebox that is directly for the RPM Signal. I however have no idea where this is..lol.

Yeah you can tap into it as its going into the ECU which is located behind the glove box. The wire you want to tap into is the the blue rpm signal wire. It should be on the bottome row, 6th pin from the right on the far right block. This depends on your orientation of course.

You can, but why bother? You'd have to snake the line through the firewall and find the rpm sensor on the tranny. Its really easy to route wires behind our dash . You can almost stick your whole arm behind the middle lower portion of our dash. Post pics when your done, also where are you mounting it?

hey, I have a howto for a shift light, basically same thing:
    http://www.k-series.com/tech_detail....ZO_SHIFT_LIGHT

For the power wire. Take the red wire and splice it into the green/black wire with silver dots. This wire can be found above your dead pedal. It's hot, so once you turn the key on, you have power.

For the rpm wire...splice it into the blue wire on the far left ecu connector.
