    5 Channel Amps

I was wanting to get a 5 channel amp to run my system. Here are my choices.

    KICKER KX700.5
    Alpine MRV-F450
    MTX Thunder 895
    PHOENIX GOLD Octane-R 9.0:5

The pheonix gold says it has the most 4ohm power but what do you guys think? They are all about the same price so that is not the issue. I need an answer pretty quick. Thanks, scott

I have the Alpine F-450 and it does everthing I want it to. I'm running Alpine 6 1/2 Type-R seperates up front, Type-R 6 1/2 components in the rear, and a Type-R 10" Sub in the hatch. I don't have any problems w/ the lights dimming unless I'm sitting still and rolling a window up/down. Alpine's site is having problems, but I think the amp is rated at 850w max.

How loud does it get? Can it easily drown out my girlfreinds singing? She is really bad.

I use to have all Alpine amps. A 4ch and sub. They are very clean sounding amps for interior speakers, but not the most powerful for subs. I have all MTX amps now (MTX Thunder 564, MTX Thunder 8302). I very much enjoy them. MTX is a powerful amp. Normally they are under rated on tags in stores. I have them running 2 pair of Infinity Kappa perfect seperates and 2 12" Alpine Type-R subs and it sounds good. Pheonix Gold is good and Audiobahn makes a 6ch.

out of those amps, i would choose the phoenix gold. it has a great unregulated power supply, but in many situations will act like a regulated power supply. lots of headroom! personally, if i was gonna get a 5 channel amp, i would get the memphis belle. that amp is an animal! as far as if it'll drown out your girlfriend, try the cheapest route, duct tape! hehe....
