I also noticed that the raspyness is quite infrequent now, not near as often as it was when it first went on. Still gonna see how the stock midpipe works out.
yeah, my 2nd cel took a week I think to come on, after that, it was non stop when I reset it :D Either way, it doesn't seem to affect performance from what I've noticed.

OK, need to make this quick, but I installed this same "hi flow cat"
last night (along with AEM CAI and Comptech cat-back). Piece looks
really nice, it's a perfect fit, etc.

No real "raspy" sound, but since the Comptech went along with it that's
pretty much all I hear (louder than I thought it would be, it has
an RSX-S tip installed on it). I did smell some funky-ness after
running around for 10 minutes after installing, though. Been better
    today.

Limited driving so far (50 miles, max), since I installed coilovers
today and spent most of the day doing that instead of driving up to
NC. Dumb = me. Anyway, no CEL yet, but limited driving so far.

I know, I love that flick.

Update: CEL came on (I wish it said "Check Engine Light, instead of
that funky symbol") after about 300-400 highway miles. No noticeable
loss in performance, but I wonder if it isn't dumping more fuel or
something. I only got about 240-250 miles per tank (granted, when I'd
fill up I'd only put in 8-9 gallons) on the trip up, but that may be
due to the fact I was going 80-90 and now have a bigger exhaust. I
    dunno.

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow.

Just installed mine today; definately pulls harder from 5k up. Very slight increase in noise under heavy throttle, almost like air rushing through or an exhaust leak. I'll check on that tomorrow. Anybody else notice this noise?

I noticed the same problems as soon as my CEL came on and was wondering the same thing, gas mileage has significantly dropped on the last two tanks since the pipe went on.

I think you guys are getting less mpg, because you have a new mod and punch the gas more ;)
I never noticed any difference in gas mileage. I drove normal one tank and it was the same as before the test pipe...I use 93 octane...not that it matters

    Dyno results?

Did you happen to check the car on a dyno with the OEM cat and again with the new test pipe?
I was looking at some reports earlier about test pipes and that if its inner diameter is larger then 2.25 you will loose some Torque due to lack of back pressure. But this was mostly talking about A3 engines. But I really don

Same here, my old girl only sizzurps on the 93 but noticed about a 30-50 mpt decrease in the last two tanks and ive been careful with my driving only runnin her hard when I have too :). I got the palm in with the dyno-scan software and will monitor to see if anything changes when the CEL comes back on.

fsu, let me know how that turns out (the palm software). Does it
read A/F ratio? Or exhaust temp? That might give us a clue (you might
have to reset ECU, test, then test with CEL on as well).

I took my car to Honda yesterday for an oil change. The service guy
(not the tech) was like "Well, the CEL is because your catalytic
converter is non-existant. I don't know why you'd do that on a brand
new car...blah blah blah". lol. I wanted to talk to a tech guy, to
see if they'd know what would happen with the CEL (i.e. run rich
or not), but I didn't get the chance.

    One more update.
I continued to get sub-par (sort of) gas mileage on the highway, from
NC to FL. I would get about 240-250 per tank and I'd fill up about
9 gallons when it got close to E - so I was getting about 25-26 miles
per gallon, I guess, which isn't *that* bad since I was doing ~90 most
    of the time.

When I got back in town, I was around long enough to drive about 50 miles
on the highway and another 230 or so on the street. Got about 280 miles
on the tank on that one. Didn't fill it up the whole way at the next
stop, but I'm starting to think that it was just the high revs/speed
and not the cat that was causing the gas mileage difference. So
    hopefully we're good there.

Andy, the software doesnt give you A/F ratio's becuase we dont have a MAF sensor. It does give reading for both o2 sensors though which is pretty helpful. Im gonna try and save a graph of a sample of both o2 readings and try to get it from the handheld to my comp to upload as a pic to show.
As for the CEL, I reset my ecu to get the light to go off then hooked up the palm to see if it was still reading a DTC. There was a pending code in the ECU that would eventually cause the CEL to come back on. I drove around for about another day and let the light come back on, then cleared the code with the software and to date (apprx. 4 days) I havent gotten another CEL or even a pending code. Not sure what that means but ill keep an eye on it.
Bioevolve if you have comments or suggestions that you could give me regarding the DTC's or hints that you have figured out over the course of you playing with the software id like to hear about them.
    Ill keep you guys posted.
