emblem install......

hey guys got my emblems from options today. they got here quick. anyways they fit perfect. the back is the easy one. take the old one off, stick the new one on. the front however was a lil different. at first the pegs on the new badge didnt match, but i found out that once you take the oem H including the platform it sits on(two phillips head screws behind it...dont rip the H off) ones who tried taken it off know what i mean, once you take it off theres a flat piece there. that flat piece has two holes that the pegs on the back of the ctr H fit in. so pretty much yo get rid of that platform all together. sorry for a long post but i tried to give you guys some insight.....also no pics because i have no camera but ill see if i can find my friends.

What is holding the back one on ? What kind of adhesive?

its the good ol fashion adhesive honda has always used. its the same thing as whats on new emblems when you get them. that gray 3M lookin adhesive. i used a hair dryer to loosen it up and some bug and tar remover to get the left overs. ill see my friend tom. so hopefully i can find his cam to get some pics.

Man that red "H" looks sweeet. Only took 5 minutes to install. All you gotta do is unscrew the two phillips screws that hold the platfrom like k20 says. What remains is a flat base. clean that off and align the two holes on the red "H" and your set. I gotta say it looks alot better this way, not jus because of the red "H" but there is no ugly platform either.

The front H emblem on our cars is HUGE! Is the red one you got the same size? It doesn't mention anywhere on that site that it's made for the CTR ep

those are tempting to get but I can see them getting ripped off my car plus the scratch marks that would come with it when they pry them off

I put the red H kinda ricey. I couldnt get to those screws so i just pulled off the H. So after that i go to jotech and they say there are'nt any red H's cuz the comapny who makes them are in court with Honda cuz there using ther logo. So i buy a grey set of H's (yuk) Then when i went to go to the dealership to get my oil changed, i saw they had a red emblem!..oh wait, its a sticker!..but it fit over the grey one perfectly and looks pretty good. But a really colse examination, you can tell. :p

glad to help out......forgot to look for the camera sunday ended up but these huge decals on this girls prelude and installing an apexi v-afc on it too, so it totally slipped my mine. ill see him again wed. night so ill get from him then. the emblems do make the car look better and i dont think they stand out as much, which dosent bother me. be careful on that front bumper you dont have to take it off just pop the black tabs off the top and slowly pull it towards you till you clear the hood latch.

my mission if i choose to accept it is..........to get a digicam!!:D
