3 is always grinding!
Mine sometimes grind when I shift to 2nd. And sometimes can't seem to go to first gear. It doesn't go in all the way and I could feel. Same with the reverse. (59,xxxMiles)
They should recall all k20 tranny after they fix the problem. They should also give us the 6sp we deserve, and the i-vtec engine we paid for.

Not being able to shift into reverse sometimes is normal, right? Just let out clutch, push in, and try again?
I grind shifting into 2nd but only when redline or close to it.
Anyone else under this circumstance?

Update: Because of Grinding 3rd gear is official Toast... *Doesn't Exist anymore* kaboom! yea Sadness...

my solution was 1st-2nd-let off clutch in neutral and back in-3rd...NO CLICK
yet I hate doing this as it is a .100 sec

People, stop posting here. this thread is going nowhere. it was posted 6 years ago, Im pretty sure Honda would have done something by now. Sorry but you all and we will just have to "Deal" with our transmission problems.
Besides, threads like these are heaven for junk mailers and other people that you dont want to have your first and last name plus your e-mail address.
2nd gear grinds horribly when i shift hard, say if im racing. 3rd gear grinds slightly as im going into it after revving seconds gear to the higher range of rpms
change your tranny fluid and shifter bushings = no more grinding...or don't jam the shifter in.

My input shaft bearings are done.
Some days are better than others. Very frustrating for a car that has such a reputation for great performance. I have probems with all gears except 5th. Help! 2003 si.
