I know the potimal tire size for a 17 in wheel on our car is a 45 series. Would a 40 series be soo small or look funny? I know there would be a bit more wheel gap but would it still look funny after I drop the Si? Thanks

Yeah, what he said, I have 215 40's waiting for my new wheels!!!!! If you are looking for ride comfort go with 45's then, if not worried then get 40's. Good Luck, come home safe too, God Bless Our Troops!!!!!!!
Yeah Tom, I think you'd be fine with a 40 series tire if you think it looks better. 45's are the ideal fit for keeping your speedometer as close as possible to factory specs. With 40's, your speedometer will be off a little since the tires are smaller. Just something to keep in mind.;)
