    Octane Booster

I just filled up with 96 octane premium and dumped some Shogun octane booster in to the tank.

The car runs so much better, you can do all the bolt ons you want but fuel makes an amazing difference, I have power where I never had it before. I can punch it in 5th gear at 3,000rpms and have much more torque.

If any of you want to try this I reccomend it every once in awhile to clean out your system.

Where did you get 96 octane pump fuel? The most we have around here is 94 from Sunoco.

We have a Circle K/76 station that sells 100 octane. Will that be good for my car or will it hurt it at all?

Cost me $16.32 to fill the tank. The bottle of Octane Booster was $5.99

I would run the 100 octane if they had it here, it will give you alot more torque, because the explosions will be that much more powerful everytime you press the pedal.

octane booster is cool but it will burn your fuel injectors and ruin your catalitic converter. I dont really give a shit about my car but my fuel injectors i do. you are fine if you only use the stuff ounce in a while but i have friends that put that shit in there cars like everyother day.

    Hey DTH -

Not to start another fuel octane thread (but you started it):p
Higher octane does not produce more powerful explosions. Was this covered in the heated octane debate of yore?

oh, and $16? how's that? from empty? it's usually about $20 for me with 94 octane. I think that's around $1.80/gal

It's $1.50/gal here. There was an octane thread? I didn't search. Oh well I had to try it out, I've never used the stuff before.

You guys are wasting your money on higher octane fuel. The engine was tuned to run on 87, the only benefit I can see on higher octane is a cleaner burn, meaning less deposits and longer lasting engine, but this is nit-picking.

I don't see it as nit-picking if my engine will run cleaner for a longer period of time! :)

There is a link to TOV in one of those past threads that showed a dyno'd increase when using CAI and 94 octane over CAI and 87.

yeah i read that article too, with higher octane fuel, the car produced +3hp, not a huge gain but its +3hp just by add higher octane fuel, ill try to find the site again, they had a dyno graph showing the gain

i don't think octane boosters really do much...especially if you added it to 96 octane gasoline. i read somewhere that octane boosters only add about 1 or less octane.
