    15in spoon; tires?

hello, brand new to the forum

    searched, but no real information

i purchased a set of sw388 knockoffs by nippon racing; 15 by 6.5

right now, i am riding on the stock 195/60/15 tires; lowered with Tein s-tech lowering springs around stock struts.

the tires seem a little tall, even though they are stock. I want to change my tires to increase the contact patch and to lower the car a bit. Would 205/50/15 be ideal? or should i stick with a 195 tire? 50 series aspect ratio too thin? 55's?

i know no one else with an ep hatch, so please enlighten me.

while the 205/50/15s will work fine, they do look smallish on the car in some cases, and could be considered too much of a gearing change.

You can compare different sizes to stock here: http://miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Hope that helps you get started!

There are a lot of people (including myself) who moved to 205/55R15 tires. They look and feel a little meatier, but I think that this mostly has to do with the type of tire that you get as a replacement ... see the "what is the best tire?" thread.

Of course, there is always 225/50R15 ...
