    Tire size for 16s?

Kind of a spin-off from the 225/45 discussion for 17s, but what are my options for a set of 16x7's with a 44 offset? Any feedback with 205/45, 205/50, or even 215s and 225s?

    205/50 is the recommended size.

I've done a fair amount of research into all of this suspension and tire business. I'll share some of my thoughts on this subject:

Stock tire diameter for the EP3 is approximately 24". This car handles better as you bring the center of gravity closer to the ground. Therefore, if you buy 205/50/16's your wheel diameter will be slightly greater than 24" which positions your car higher off the ground - this is not the desired affect. If anything, you should be striving to bring your car closer to the ground. A 205/45/16 will have a diameter of approximately 23.3" which will actually lower your center of gravity by just over 1/4 of an inch.

Width is another matter yet again: 225's might give you better grip but they will slow you down in the straights, hydroplane more in wet weather and track quite noticably as well. You will also get rotten gas mileage. There is a subtle balance between wide and too wide. The CTR comes with 205's; I'm guessing
there's a reason for that. Honda engineers have a fairly good idea of the appropriateness of tire width when it comes to performance.
    ;)

i have 205/50/16s on my slips. and if i had gotten 205/45s, i would be scraping even worse than i already do w/ my H&R's. i guess i lowered the center of gravity enough with my springs, so smaller tires aren't what i want, or need. i like my tires. falken ziex 205/50/16 on flat black slips. i think a i got a 40 offset? i cant remember.

Yes... well that makes sense too. ;) It's always a combination of tires and suspension! :D If you've modified your suspension dramatically then you will certainly have to rethink the tire size equation!!!

I have 205/55-16's on my car...
Thats what the RSX comes w/ stock and I'm pretty sure that's what the 2004 Si comes with stock...
I'll be getting new tires soon, Azenis, so the tire size may stay the same...

Actually 205/50-16 will have a smaller diameter (24.1") then stock, which is 195/60-15 (24.2").

At any rate, 205/45/16's will bring you closer to the ground than either of them. ;)
