tire sizes?

I asked this question before but i need more imput. What is the best tire size for 17*7 inch rims that won't throw off the speedometer?

Gotta disagree with that. 215/45-17 is closer by a small amount. It's about 1.6% larger than stock, while 40-series is about 1.8% smaller. The doesn't sound like much, but it's better to be larger than stock than smaller, for ride comfort, rim protection, and gas mileage.
