The short shifter reduced your throw from gear to gear (neuspeed is 30%) and the aluminuim bushings make it more precise by getting ride of the plastic ones..

I got my Neuspeed short shifter off of ebay.. 80 bucks and it took me about 10 minutes to put in..

takes a minute to get used to but I love it..

shifter bushings > than any other mod that i can think of for 10 bucks.

basically it jus gives less play in your shifter.

I wish some company makes neuspeed replica short shifters for cheaper prices.
I waited too long, Going to order neuspeed anyways now..

    Shifter bushings are excellent.

Is this a DIY mod for novices? I'm pretty much a neophyte when it comes to anything auto, but I like to get my hands dirty and learn "how-to's".

Are we talking a weekend, 1 day, hours?

    Hehehehe......

Neuspeed Short shifter - 15 minutes with basic tools and an allen wrench.

Aluminum Bushings - 15 minutes if you don't drop one.

If you plan on doing them, try to do both at the same time as it will cut down on time :)
