    Question Anybody running 215/50-16s?

    Anyone?

    What are your thoughts?

    I'm trying to decide between 215/50s and 205/50s on a 16x7 wheel.

I'm on 205/50/16's but I was seriously considering going with 215/50/16's. The only reason I didn't was because I was trying to spend as little as possible on tires because I had just spent a bunch on the rims. I kind of wish I had held out and gone with 215's because the 205's are barely wider than stock. I think I'll go with 215's when I wear these out. As you probably know, brand selection is narrowed greatly in that size.

Deffinitly the 215/50/16. I have 205/55/16 and like that size, but I would like a wider tire next time.

you are better off staying with 205s. with 215s, if your car is lowered anything over 1 inch, youre going to be rubbing in the fenderwells during cornering. not recomended.

Yes 215 does rub on cornering. I am currently running 215/55/16s and I rub in the rear just driving normal.....I had to bend in the rear fenders which sucked balls. I am lowered on progress springs. The front dont rub at all unless I corner pretty hard.......which I dont get to do alot now with these tires because they rub and I hate it. My next set will probably be 205/50/16s or maybe Ill try the 215/50/16s but I couldnt find the Toyo proxes 4 in the 215/50/16 size which is why I went with 215/55/16.

Really? I would have thought they would be fine without a problem since I've seen a few people on here with 225+/45/17's and dropped that claim they fit fine.

I'm on a 1.5" Eibach drop and only have problems when there's more than 2 people in the car (or one heavy person in the passenger seat :) ). The rears will rub if I have weight and hit a significant bump/hole. Other than that it's incredible grippage.
