powder coating is of course better but it cost about 30 bucks a wheel. and a diy cost only 15. cant compare with 15 bucks and 120

    question

    dumb question:

do you have to remove the tire when using the Duplicolor DIY method?
    If so, how?

Can't argue price with powdercaot vs paint, but how does paint hold up?

i sanded the wheels down, to take off the factory shine, primered, gunmetal metallic paint, then clear coat ( a few coats of each till desired look ) and have had them on for a few months, and thru winter, they held up nicely

i painted mine with flat black duplicator wheel paint...used 2 bottles and was more then enough to paint 4 wheels...took all the wheels off 1 by 1 and pinted them.....ive been getting a lot of good comments while on the road....it looks very JDM...black on black with an option 2 sticker and amber signals...
