Question How to install Mugen replica rear strut bar?

I have a Mugen replica rear strut bar for an RSX and have read a few threads stating that they should fit the EP. My question is, where exactly does it mount? I'm assuming it's an upper bar, but I'm not sure how to take the plastic trim pieces off to try and install this thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

    You will need dremel tool.
Just cut around the screw on top portion.

    Bolt size is 10 mm.
Did replica bar come with replacement bolts?
Because stock bolts aren't long enough to fit bar.

Hmm. You can't access those bolts by taking the plastic off? I'm just trying to get an idea of where it's going to sit so that I don't cut the hole too big ;)

the mugen rear upper bar installs high 1/2 way up back seat it's 4 bolts. if you want detailed instrustions go to www.neuspeed.com their bar is the same and the instructions apply also.

    Sweet! Thanks man!

I was actually just gonna bring this thread back up to say that I've figured out where it goes.

I also wanted to ask some other Mugen replica owners whether or not their bar was a bit short when they went to install it. It looks like mine might be a 1/4" or so too short and the bolt holes might not align perfectly. Did anyone else find this problem as well? If so, how did you go about getting everything to line up properly?

Thanks again for the help! :)

you should have gotten a real mugen strut bar instead of a POS replica one

when it comes to your car quality is always better than quantity

    Oh, Please.
    I love authentic parts.
But Mugen Replica bar is very nice.
Awesome welding job. A LOT cheaper than real ones.
Just little heavier than real ones.

BTW, I have JIC hatch bar.

If it comes down to that, I should have gotten a REAL car to begin with. Pulled my deposit on the STI when I realized I'd have to be commuting 60+ miles a day to school 5 days a week instead of the 2 days I had planned for :(

Either way, I absolutley love my EP and think that just because something is made by Mugen doesn't warrant a 300% markup

Oh, and instead of those POS Silverstars you should have gotten HID's...

Where can you the right bolts, so that they are long enough.

Bar is actually made it for DC5.
So stock RSX bolts will work.
But I just went to local hardware store and bought new bolts.

Really? The guy on iVTECdaily.com had to use longer bolts on his RSX, IIRC.

I had to go get longer one's as well. Unfortunatly I stripped the thread out of the upper nut on the passenger side, so I'll probably have to drill it, go get another bolt, and figure out how to put another nut on the end of it.

Besides that, the bar has stiffened up the rear by a noticable amount :) the only problem, if you can call it that, is that every time I do a suspension or chassis strengthening mod, (x-brace, RSX-S rear sway bar) understeer becomes a little worse because the shitty stock tires want to keep folding over. But that should all change soon, hopefully :D I womder how much of a difference a front sway bar should make...

Anyways, thanks again for the help all!
