    Hood difficult to close

Has anyone else noticed that our hoods are REALLY difficult to close on the first try? It takes a lot of of force (for me at least) for the latch to click properly. I guess its more annoying than anything else but could any damage result from closing it too roughly?

Yeah, you have to drop it about half way for it to close. If you just let it down and try to push it shut, then you're taking the risk of bending your hood. It doesn't hurt it to drop it shut.

You're supposed to hold it high up. I saw it in the manual, this is because our hoods are so light they won't close without some force. Normal hoods are very heavy and close without much drop.

Hmm....I've never had any trouble. They hood is pretty light though. It makes getting a carbon fiber hood mostly cosmetic. If I had kept my Prelude that would have been one of my next mods. The weight distribution is like 63/37 front to back on that car!

Well, the inside of the car - yes.

The hood? hmmm.. since I can see the ground through the engine bay, I don't think so.

You only have to worry about bulb damage when slamming your hood.

The owner's manual says to hold it up about one foot and then let the hood go to close it. I have done this and it neither slams shut nor stays open.
