removing orange piece on 04 taillights

is it possible to take apart the 04 tail lights and remove that orange piece??? im located in hawaii and i dont think anyone down here would trade for their 02-03 tails (plus theirs only a number or EP's down here). so i was thinking if i could just DIY my 04 tails to make it just red/clear. has anyone done it? HELP ME OUT PLEASE!

Great idea but I'm not sure....

I know the 02/03's are melted together which makes it almost impossible to open them up without destroying/damaging them (I tried). They're nothing like the headlights which are held by that silicone adhesive. Maybe the 04 tails are different??? If so, it'd be one hell of a mod :)

Like that? These are the 04 european tails. They should fit your SI, too. ;)

They are about 90 dollars, you can get them from any Honda dealer in Germany. :)

The german (or european?) part numbers for the 04 taillights are the following. ;)

    Left taillight: 33551-S5S-G31
    Right taillight: 33501-S5S-G31

Two small indicator bulbs are required as well: 34901-SB3-671
