bracket is messed up

the bracket that the i-vtec cover screws onto was already stripped.

I took out the screw and it was really tight. It didnt want to come out of the threads. then when i go to put it back on, it wont thread through. The other side is just fine and it isnt the screw b/c it works on the other side.

tried honda automotive parts.com and they dont have the si listing.

should i just take it to the parts dept and see if they can get me a new one? :(

Just out of curiosity , did you try putting it on with the engine warmed up? temperature might be a factor. If the bracket is warm it could maybe allow the cool screw to go in easier?

I feel for you man. People consider me mechanically inclined, but I always break the damn plastic clips on interior panels. Shit just happens. :'(
