Question on design of shocks???

Hey Gang,

Here is my question:

"What is the main difference with after market and OEM shocks?"

OK, we all know that AM ones perform and look better. But what are the differences inside? ie: oil, design, etc.

Cuz I'm sure all shocks work similar in some aspects and the OEM shock manufacturer didn't intend to design and manufacture an inferior shock, right?

Besides adjustability, what are the MAIN differences between shock brands? Or is it like other parts, just all based upon preferences????

There many designs.It comes down to end usage.OEM is meant to please everyone.DC5 are HD valved more aggressively.DC5-R are a lot stiffer.recommendations will vary depending on what you want.Trust me there are cheap shocks out there.
