    I was lucky and found a complete shortblock for 300 and I already had the head, so why have a bunch of parts laying around afterwards that I didnt need, so shortblock it was. It wouldnt have mattered if it was a A1 or A4, either would have worked well.

    How long did it take you to dremel that oil pump casing...my dremel burnt up before I could finish..

    It took about 10 minutes or so. alot of the newer Dremels overheat rather quickly, after they cool off they usually will start back up.

    For major work I use a slightly heavier duty version/copy. 1/3hp with both foot and hand speed controls.

    ten minutes...yikes....i thought I had a pretty good dremel....apparently not

    good luck on the build. i like your choice of products for the build. one question though. why did you go with a 11:1 compression ratio. wouldn't you have benefited from a higher compression ratio around say 12:1 with those cams?

    Well with the extra thick ceramic piston tops, flatface valves and .006" total decking she is just a tad under 12:1, that should be decent.

    Think of her as a female Dr. Jeykle and Mr. Hyde...the straight laced Librarian who becomes a true Mrs. Hyde with a penchant for mayhem!

    this build here is something i REALLY want to do, hopefully soon. This seems to be the best way well for power and torque.
